About Wellio It's probably not news to you that wellbeing and mental health issues are rising globally. 40% of young people have experienced a mental health disorder in the past year alone, so chances are you know someone who has been affected. At Wellio, we help schools put wellbeing at the heart of every student’s school experience. We believe improving youth mental health is one of the most important challenges of our time. Wellio is building the world’s first Wellbeing Management System, bringing the best of student wellbeing practice into one simple platform. We help schools teach wellbeing consistently, identify students who may be struggling earlier, coordinate support and continuously improve student outcomes. And it’s working. Today, Wellio powers wellbeing programs in 1,000 schools across 25 countries, supporting millions of students. We’re on track to complete our fourth consecutive year of 100% growth, and we’re just getting started. It shouldn’t matter which school you attend, or what country you live in. Every student should have access to the best tools and support to thrive. Our mission is big and important, and that’s why we’re looking for the very best people to help us achieve it. About the Role We’re hiring a Senior Product Designer to be the designer on one of our product squads. At Wellio, product design is one role, not three. Our designers do the research, help shape the bet, design the flows and interfaces, and then build them. Design owns the design system in the app, and alongside Figma, the codebase is now where a lot of our design happens. Our new student avatar builder went from idea to shipped in three days, built end to end by our designer with AI. Before AI, we’d have budgeted three weeks for it. We run Shape Up, with six-week build cycles and small squads where a PM, designer, engineers and content people own one outcome for schools together. It’s a rare chance to help define how great design gets done with AI, while building tools that improve millions of young lives What you will do You’ll work day to day with your squad’s PM and engineers to take features from shaping to shipped, owning the design process end to end. Design and build - Design complete experiences, from fat marker sketches to pixel-perfect interfaces - Build your designs in the codebase with AI and ship front-end changes without a handoff - Check your code with our AI review skills, then pair with engineers through code review and on technical constraints - Contribute patterns to a design system that scales across the platform Design with AI - Give AI the context, components and constraints to build things that look and work like Wellio - Improve the skills, rules and design system context in our codebase so everyone’s output gets better - Share what works, and what doesn’t, with the rest of the team Research and discovery - Observe teachers and students using the product in real classrooms - Run user interviews and put working prototypes in front of users before we commit to building - Use PostHog and session recordings to see where people get stuck - Turn insights into clear design principles and interface patterns Content and collaboration - Write clear interface copy and work with our content team to keep messaging consistent - Design content-heavy educational interfaces that balance information density with usability - Shape pitches live with your PM and engineers, and present work at the betting table - Create materials that help sales and customer success communicate the product’s value - Mentor others on design thinking and user-centred approaches What We're Looking For 4+ years of product design experience with a proven track record shipping successful B2B SaaS products. Full-stack design skills. You take designs from concept to production yourself. You're comfortable working in a codebase and use AI coding tools to build and ship your own front-end work. You don't need to be a back-end developer. AI-native workflow. You already design with AI tools day to day. You know where they speed you up and where they make things up, and you're keen to push how far they can go. Strong visual and interaction design skills. You have excellent taste and can create interfaces that are both beautiful and highly functional. User research and testing experience. You know how to validate design decisions with real users and turn insights into better experiences. Excellent writing skills. You understand that words are part of the design and can write clear, helpful interface copy. Systems thinking. You can design individual features while building and maintaining consistent design systems that scale. You love great products and get excited by well-crafted tools, whether in our space or completely outside it. Collaborative mindset. You work well with engineering, product, and content teams to create integrated solutions. Problem-solving skills. You can identify important user problems, break them down, and work systematically toward elegant solutions. Why You Should Work Here - Small, exceptional team. Staying lean and building with AI keeps us fast, simple and out of meetings. - Mission-driven work. It’s a globally meaningful problem. - Transparency. We share everything internally, because trust and context lead to better decisions. - Profitable and founder-led. We make decisions for schools and students, not someone else’s timeline. - We don’t take ourselves too seriously. We hold high standards, with plenty of laughter and a healthy dose of weird. - Remote-friendly, culture-focused. We have bases in London, Amsterdam, Sydney and Melbourne, and we fly the team together for two meetups a year. If you’re excited by the opportunity to build a truly global sales organisation, join one of Australia’s fastest-growing startups and work on one of the most important challenges facing young people today, we’d love to hear from you. Please submit your CV. We are looking forward to learning more about you! Salary: €92,000 – €111,000 / yearOriginally posted on Himalayas
