Our category-leading mobile app, Tile tracking devices, and Pet GPS tracker empower members to protect the people, pets, and things they care about most with a range of services, including location sharing, safe driver reports, and crash detection with emergency dispatch. Life360 delivers peace of mind and enhances everyday family life with seamless coordination for all the moments that matter, big and small. By continuing to innovate and deliver for our customers, we have become a household name and the must-have mobile-based membership for families (and those friends who are basically family). Life360 has more than 500 (and growing!) remote-first employees. For more information, please visit life360.com. Life360 is a Remote-First company, which means a remote work environment will be the primary experience for all employees. All positions, unless otherwise specified, can be performed remotely (within the US) regardless of any specified location above. We are AI Native We are building an AI Native company where AI is an integral part of how we build and operate. AI tool usage during interviews varies by role. You may be asked to demonstrate proficiency with AI tools, discuss how you leverage AI, or complete interview exercises without AI assistance. Your Recruiter will provide clear guidance as you move through the interview process. Undisclosed use of AI not previously discussed with or approved by your Recruiter may impact your candidacy. About The Team Life360's IT team exists to enable our 500+ remote-first employees to be equipped, productive, and secure, wherever they're working from. That means owning the identity, endpoint, infrastructure, and collaboration experience end to end, and treating the services it owns as a product. IT reports to our CISO and sits right next to Information Security, and the two teams work as true partners with decisions made together, not thrown over a wall. That partnership matters even more as Life360 leans further into an AI Native way of working: shaping what that looks like day to day means working closely with other key partners like People, Finance, and Legal, not building in isolation. About the Job We're hiring a Director of IT to own IT Operations and IT Engineering end to end; enterprise identity, endpoint management, corporate infrastructure, collaboration tooling, and the service model our distributed workforce depends on. This opportunity will allow you to reimagine how IT operates in an AI Native environment and bring an engineering mindset to how the function runs: structured, automated, and metrics-driven. This is a role for someone who wants to take an IT function to its next stage of maturity, not just keep it running as-is. You’ll have the agency and runway to set the strategy, build the playbooks, and lead the team to the next level. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader who has scaled IT operations and engineering in high growth environments, carries strong engineering principles, and can operate with a safety first mindset. A year in, this function is a genuine strategic partner across the business — anticipating technology and infrastructure needs and building the roadmaps that mature alongside Life360's growth. Employees experience IT as a real productivity advantage: fast, reliable tools and a technical experience they're glad to have. Every request is handled quickly, cleanly, and with real care. The budget is well-managed and forecasted with confidence. AI tooling and automation are woven into how the team operates, creating capacity for high-value, forward-looking work. IT's operational excellence also strengthens Life360's security and compliance posture, with clean identity management, strong asset visibility, and access controls that hold up confidently under audit. And the team is one people are proud to be part of; strong morale, strong retention, and a genuine draw for top IT talent who want to do their best work. The US-based salary range for this position is $167,000 to $245,000. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary - therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity. What You’ll Do - Own the strategy and execution of Life360's core IT Operations & Engineering teams including enterprise identity, endpoint management, network infrastructure, collaboration, and end user services - Drive the technical roadmap and transparency programs to provide leadership clear visibility into IT quality, risks, and investments - Lead, hire, and grow a high-performing IT team, raising the bar toward an engineering first skillset and standing up new IT engineering roles as the function scales - Set and hold high quality service level standards through evolving IT's operating model: service ownership, response times, availability, and an exceptional employee experience - Partner with the CISO and Information Security to ensure every service and process meets our safety standards - Identify and implement AI Native tools and automation that improve internal productivity and employee workflows, in line with Life360's broader AI Native transformation - Own IT vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and budget planning, partnering with Finance and Procurement - Serve as escalation point and executive sponsor for major IT incidents, migrations, and large-scale initiatives What We’re Looking For Required Experience - Minimum of 15 years of experience in IT, including at least 7-8 years in a senior leadership role directing multiple teams or functions - Deep hands-on grounding in modern IT infrastructure: identity and access management, endpoint management, cloud collaboration platforms, and enterprise networking - Experience embedding AI tools and automation into IT operations and employee productivity workflows - Demonstrated security-first judgment partnering with Security and Compliance teams - Experience owning budgets, vendor relationships, and procurement decisions - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, especially with non-technical teams - Comfortable operating in a global, high-growth environment where systems and headcount scale quickly - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience Preferred Experience - Experience leading IT or corporate engineering at a remote-first or high-growth technology company, with a modern cloud-based stack (e.g., Okta, Jamf, and SaaS collaboration tooling) rather than a traditional on-premise environment - Hands-on experience building or deploying AI agents and automation into IT or employee workflows, with concrete use cases and measurable impact Our Benefits - Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans (100% paid for employees) - Paid parental leave - 401(k) plan with company matching program - Mental Wellness Program & Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for mental well-being - Generous time off: flexible PTO, companywide holidays throughout the year plus summer and winter shutdowns - Learning & Development programs - Equipment, tools, and reimbursement support for a productive remote environment - Free Life360 Platinum Membership Tile trackers Life360 Values Our company’s mission-driven culture is guided by our shared values to create a trusted work environment where you can bring your authentic self to work and make a positive difference - Be a Good Person - We have a team of high integrity people you can trust. - Be Direct With Respect - We communicate directly, even when it’s hard. - Members Before Metrics - We focus on building an exceptional experience for families. - High Intensity, High Impact - We do whatever it takes to get the job done.
