IT Trainee

Requirements:

• We welcome applicants without industry qualifications, as we provide full training.

• Some coding experience and knowledge of Microsoft Excel are advantageous but not essential; we provide full training.
• You must hold a full drivers licence, as driving is essential, and be flexible about working at other Group locations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop new applications as business needs require, primarily using C#.
• Maintain and update existing code, including data retrieval, recording and manipulation; SFTP communication applications; database connections; and upgrades to the latest .NET version.
• Develop and maintain the internal IIS intranet using C#, HTML, and CSS.
• Set up and maintain local and virtual Linux server environments.
• Develop and maintain internal and external websites using technologies such as LAMP, IIS, Apache, PHP, HTML, CSS, WordPress, and Node.
• Maintain local and remote MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
• Help staff with Windows 11 and application-related enquiries.
• Understand network infrastructure to support optimisation and fault tracing.
• Provide IT support and assistance, troubleshoot issues, and take appropriate remedial action as directed.
• Be receptive, respectful, and accommodating when assisting others.

This is an extremely varied role offering broad IT experience and exposure to a wide range of business activities. We offer 21 days of annual leave plus bank or public holidays and an additional day of birthday leave, access to a dedicated independent performance coach, company bonus or performance enhancements, and a company pension scheme. The advertised pay is £18,500 per year. Additional leave and a company pension are also listed as benefits. This is an in-person role.
