Production Preparation Engineer

We are looking for a motivated Production Preparation Engineer for a consulting assignment in Västerås. In this role, you will work closely with engineering, purchasing, and production to ensure that customer-order-specific projects are carried out efficiently and in accordance with established requirements for quality, cost, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform production preparation for customer-order-specific machines and control equipment based on documentation provided by the engineering department.
• Be responsible for the preparation and coordination of order-specific purchasing activities related to ongoing projects.
• Place and follow up on purchase orders for selected materials and components, ensuring deliveries are made according to project schedules.
• Ensure that all required documentation and certificates are included in purchases and available when needed.
• Provide support to production, purchasing, and other functions in cases of urgent material requirements or other project-related matters.
• Actively participate in project teams and contribute to ensuring that all material- and production-related requirements are identified, planned, and fulfilled on time.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to processes, working methods, and material flows.
• Qualifications
• Engineering degree or university education in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, or an equivalent field.
• At least 2 years of experience in production preparation, production planning, or a similar technical role.
• Good technical understanding and experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
• Experience working with SAP or another ERP system.
• Experience with Teamcenter or another PDM system is considered an advantage.
• Experience in manufacturing industries, rotating machinery, or technical purchasing is considered an advantage.
• Very good command of both Swedish and English, written and spoken.

Location: Västerås, Sweden

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: 2027-06-30

Workload: Full-time, 40 hours/week

Remote Work: On-site, 5 days/week
