R&D Engineer

Senior Software Developer – Industrial Automation | Västerås, Sweden

We are currently looking for an experienced and driven Senior Software Developer for an exciting consulting assignment with an international company operating within industrial technology and automation in Västerås, Sweden.

In this role, you will become an important part of an innovative R&D team, contributing to the entire product development lifecycle – from initial concept to final delivery. Your main focus will be designing and implementing advanced software solutions for industrial automation and control systems.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong technical background who enjoys solving complex challenges, taking ownership and collaborating across different teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement advanced software solutions for industrial automation.
• Drive software development activities from concept through implementation, testing and delivery.
• Plan, coordinate and organize daily activities within the development team.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure aligned and effective solutions.
• Participate in requirements analysis, software design, coding, testing and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to high-quality, reliable and sustainable software solutions.
• Support a collaborative team environment with a strong focus on safety, quality and innovation.
• Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience.

Strong technical skills in:

• Java
• C#
• C++
• Linux
• Azure DevOps
• Containers / Containerization
• Angular
• React
• Experience working across the full software development lifecycle.
• Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English.
• Meriting Qualifications
• Experience in crane automation or similar industrial automation environments.
• Previous experience in technical leadership or coordinating development teams.
• Experience working within R&D or complex industrial product development.
