Senior Appian Developer

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience developing, deploying, and managing Appian applications
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required federal background investigation or Public Trust suitability determination
• Appian Certified Senior Developer certification
• Hands-on experience with Appian SAIL interfaces, Records, Process Models, expression rules, and application design patterns
• Experience with relational data modeling, SQL, and Appian data objects
• Experience developing integrations using REST APIs, connected systems, and integration objects
• Ability to identify and resolve Appian application performance, security, and scalability issues
• Experience with GitHub for source control and collaborative development
• Experience applying DevSecOps practices to application development, testing, and deployment
• Collaborative, detail-oriented approach and commitment to software quality
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain Appian applications using platform components and established design patterns
• Independently translate complex business requirements into application components, requiring minimal guidance
• Create technical documentation, architecture artifacts, and coding standards
• Estimate effort for enhancements and new features
• Develop maintainable application components and contribute to technical solution decisions
• Provide project leadership with accurate updates on progress, risks, and estimates
• Design complex relational data models, translate them into Appian objects, and assess when advanced database functions are appropriate
• Apply Appian architecture knowledge to deliver performant, secure, and scalable applications
• Implement business process management and automation solutions to improve operational workflows
• Build integrations with external systems using Appian connected systems, integration objects, REST APIs, and approved plug-ins
• Configure, administer, and support deployments across development, test, and production environments, coordinating with DevSecOps and infrastructure teams
• Troubleshoot and debug application issues using Appian monitoring tools, logs, Health Check, platform documentation, and relevant Admin Console settings
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and provide technical escalation support for performance, security, and scalability issues
