Senior Automation Tester - PyTest / Databricks

Requirements:

• 10+ years of QA or test automation experience, including 5+ years in a senior or lead role
• Strong hands-on Python and Pytest experience for API and data testing
• Expert SQL skills and proven experience validating data in Databricks; Databricks SQL, notebooks, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog experience are a plus
• Experience testing data pipelines, ETL processes, and large-scale data migrations
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, specifically with GitHub Actions
• Experience with qTest or a similar test management tool integrated with automation
• Familiarity with AI tools such as Databricks Genie and GitHub Copilot
• Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum, the software development lifecycle, and defect management
• Strong communication skills
• No degree is required

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain automated test suites in Python and Pytest, extending our existing framework
• Validate SQL-to-Databricks migrations and transformations, including schemas, row counts, data completeness, and business rules
• Write and run complex SQL queries in Databricks to verify ETL/ELT pipelines, Delta Lake tables, and downstream reporting data
• Integrate automated tests into GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, run them for pull requests, scheduled jobs, and deployments, and report results to the team
• Manage test cases, plans, and defect traceability in qTest, connecting automated results with manual test coverage
• Use Databricks Genie, GitHub Copilot, and other AI-assisted tools to support test creation, data exploration, and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with data engineers, developers, and product owners on test strategies, acceptance criteria, and release readiness
• Mentor junior testers, review automation code, and promote effective practices for test data, environments, and reporting
• Investigate failures, identify root causes, and raise and track defects through resolution

This is a telecommute Solutions role with working hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and pay of $60–$80 per hour.
