Senior Functional and Automation Tester (Remote)

Requirements:

• 5–10 years of experience in technology, software development, software testing, or a related technical environment
• Strong experience testing or working with Java-based backend services and APIs
• Strong understanding of functional and automated testing concepts
• Hands-on experience with applications running on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience with serverless and/or container-based architectures
• Strong experience testing RESTful APIs and service integrations
• Knowledge of API authentication and authorization patterns
• Experience with applications that integrate AI capabilities or AI services
• Familiarity with AI evaluation and monitoring concepts
• Knowledge of secure engineering practices, including least privilege, service accounts, secrets management, encryption, and audit logging
• Familiarity with CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and Git-based workflows

Responsibilities:

• Perform functional, integration, regression, API, and automated testing of enterprise applications and backend services
• Test and validate Java-based backend applications and services
• Design, develop, execute, and maintain functional and automated test scenarios
• Test RESTful APIs, including requests, responses, payloads, error handling, and service integrations
• Validate API authentication and authorization functionality
• Test applications and services deployed on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Validate serverless and container-based application environments
• Support testing of applications that integrate AI capabilities and services
• Evaluate AI-enabled functionality and assist with basic monitoring and validation of AI outputs
• Validate secure engineering requirements, including least-privilege access, service accounts, secrets management, encryption in transit and at rest, and audit logging
• Support automated testing in CI/CD pipelines and Git-based development workflows
• Troubleshoot application and cloud-related defects using logs, metrics, monitoring, and observability tools
• Participate in defect identification, triage, root-cause analysis, retesting, and regression validation
• Support performance troubleshooting and production issue resolution
• Collaborate with Engineering, QA, DevOps, Product, and Security stakeholders to resolve technical and quality issues
