Senior Staff Software Engineer, Perception

Requirements:

• Masters or PhD degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience deploying state-of-the-art computer vision or deep learning technologies in real-world applications
• Proficiency in C++, Python, or similar programming languages
• Ability to execute effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong technical leadership skills
• Passion for applying AI technologies to real-world challenges
• Preferred: Track record of designing organizational structures and developing people
• Preferred: Extensive experience in the autonomous driving industry
• Preferred: Strong understanding of real-time systems and optimization techniques
• Preferred: Hands-on experience deploying real products or platforms and addressing the challenges of complex systems

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement next-generation perception systems so our autonomous vehicles can understand and navigate their surroundings reliably
• Work with our planning team to advance an end-to-end AI-based autonomous driving system
• Apply innovative AI techniques to challenging real-world robotics problems deployed at scale
• Lead a team of deep learning and software engineers, supporting strong performance and achievement of team objectives
• Set short- and long-term technical direction and advance autonomous driving capabilities as research and solutions evolve
• Build collaborative relationships across our company and encourage cross-functional teamwork

The annual base salary range for this role is $245,000–$350,000, with actual pay varying based on qualifications, skills, experience, and location. The role may also qualify for incentives and restricted stock units.
