Software Engineering Manager

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of software development experience.
• At least 5 years of software leadership experience, through project or people leadership.
• Experience working with embedded software teams.
• Ability to manage software backlogs, feature planning, and execution across teams.
• Demonstrated ability to guide software teams on architecture, product direction, and major projects.
• Ability to coordinate priorities across Engineering, Customer Support, and Product Management while maintaining technical progress.
• Clear communication with engineers, managers, application engineers, and product stakeholders.
• Sound judgment when evaluating tradeoffs, scope, risk, and timelines.
• Ability to align teams, remove blockers, and sustain progress on key work.
• Ability to quickly learn products, customer use cases, and business context.
• Preferred: Experience in industrial automation, motion control, or related products; servo drives or industrial control systems; firmware product ownership, software management, or technical program leadership; or leading software teams through organizational change.
• Federal export control restrictions may limit eligibility to U.S. Persons or candidates who can qualify for a license permitting them to hold the position.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without company sponsorship to obtain or maintain work authorization.

Responsibilities:

• Own software backlog priorities, technical direction, and release planning.
• Translate product goals into development plans, user stories, and execution priorities.
• Coordinate product roadmaps with Product Management, application engineers, and other technical leaders.
• Lead major software initiatives for servo drive products, including scope, architecture, and priorities.
• Drive planning and requirements definition so teams deliver the intended products with disciplined execution.
• Lead embedded software engineers and foster collaboration across engineering teams.
• Support engineers development through coaching, technical guidance, and feedback.
• Mentor early-career engineers in software development, industrial control systems, and engineering practices.

This hands-on, team-oriented role brings together firmware, tools, and product direction to develop software for demanding industrial motion applications. Our hybrid schedule requires at least three onsite days per week, Monday through Thursday, with up to two remote days, including Friday. The expected base salary range is $100,000–$155,800; compensation depends on factors including worksite location, market, skills, experience, education, and internal comparisons.
