Sr. IP Network Engineer

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 5 years of experience designing and supporting service-provider or large-scale enterprise networks.
• Demonstrated experience implementing and supporting VxLAN/EVPN datacenter fabrics, including leaf-spine architectures and BGP EVPN control planes.
• Hands-on experience managing Palo Alto firewalls, Panorama, and enterprise security policies.
• Expert-level production knowledge of BGP (iBGP/eBGP), OSPF, and MPLS.
• Strong understanding of datacenter networking concepts, including VxLAN, EVPN, vPC, and Spanning Tree.
• Experience using Linux environments and command-line administration tools.
• Proficiency in Python or another scripting language for network automation.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to document technical processes and explain complex concepts clearly.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and lead technical initiatives.
• Preferred: advanced networking certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, or PCNSE, or equivalent.
• Preferred: experience with Cisco ASR/NCS (IOS-XR), Juniper MX/SRX, or similar service-provider platforms.
• Preferred: experience with software-defined networking technologies such as ACI or NSX.
• Preferred: familiarity with AI-driven operations, network observability, or advanced monitoring platforms.
• Preferred: deep expertise in large-scale datacenter fabric deployments.
• Preferred: experience applying Infrastructure as Code practices with Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools.
• Preferred: knowledge of network source-of-truth platforms such as NetBox.

Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and support VxLAN/EVPN datacenter fabrics across multiple locations, including leaf-spine architectures, BGP EVPN control planes, and overlay/underlay integration.
• Manage Palo Alto firewall environments, including security policy design, Panorama administration, threat prevention, and rule lifecycle management.
• Architect and support BGP-based WAN routing, including iBGP/eBGP policies, route optimization, and prefix management.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across network routing, switching, and security layers.
• Build and maintain network automation for configuration management, provisioning, monitoring, and operational efficiency using Python, Ansible, or similar technologies.
• Assess emerging networking technologies and lead proof-of-concept initiatives to improve infrastructure performance and scalability.
• Work with engineering, operations, and infrastructure teams to deliver network improvements and enterprise initiatives.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on key projects.
• Participate in on-call rotations and support planned maintenance when required.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and post-incident reports.
• Coordinate with vendors and help assess hardware and technology solutions.
