AI-Assisted Fullstack Java Engineer

Requirements:

• Strong backend Java skills and demonstrated experience with AI-assisted development tools, including Claude or comparable tools and Cursor.
• React experience is preferred.
• Senior-level, hands-on experience delivering production systems in enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of design patterns and the ability to turn specifications into complete, production-ready software.
• Sound engineering judgment to evaluate, review, explain, modify, and take ownership of AI-generated code.
• Experience applying secure coding, data protection, testing, error handling, logging, resilience, performance, CI/CD, and operational monitoring practices.
• Ability to work effectively across the software development lifecycle and collaborate with product owners, architects, and engineering teams.
• Willingness to follow our engineering, security, architecture, and operational standards, and to use AI tools responsibly without exposing unapproved confidential or sensitive data.
• Ability to share AI development practices and participate in knowledge transfer and enablement activities.
• Must be based in the United States.

Responsibilities:

• Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate software design, development, refactoring, testing, and production hardening while maintaining quality, security, and maintainability.
• Build confidence in AI-generated artifacts and guide the team in turning them into high-quality, production-ready software.
• Design, build, refactor, and harden Java and/or React components.
• Review and validate AI-assisted outputs, ensuring delivered code meets our production, security, and operational standards.
• Collaborate with our product owners, architects, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to gather technical and functional input.
• Develop and execute delivery plans aligned with agreed scope and priorities.
• Participate in code reviews, Agile ceremonies, delivery processes, and weekly status reporting.
• Share effective practices for prompt engineering, iterative refinement, AI-assisted refactoring, and quality assurance.
• Participate in knowledge-transfer sessions, walkthroughs, and enablement discussions as requested.
• Demonstrate AI-assisted development efficiencies and outcomes to client stakeholders.
