Requirements:
- Strong commercial software engineering experience and hands-on Generative AI development expertise
- Experience leading technical teams
- Strong Python, Java, and FastAPI development experience
- Experience with Generative AI, Agentic AI, and Large Language Models
- Experience with RAG architectures, prompt orchestration, and LLM integration
- AWS cloud engineering experience, particularly with Bedrock and AgentCore
- Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and engineering automation
- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
- Technical leadership and mentoring experience
- Experience delivering secure, production-grade applications
- Experience with Terraform, GitOps, Kong API Gateway, vector search, SQL/NoSQL databases, or AI evaluation tools such as Arize or Promptfoo would be useful
- Experience in financial services, insurance, or other regulated environments would be beneficial
- Ideally, 12+ years of commercial experience and availability immediately or within four weeks
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of AI Developers delivering enterprise-grade Generative and Agentic AI solutions
- Design and develop Python and Java services, APIs, and AI components
- Build LLM integrations, RAG architectures, and agent-based workflows
- Develop prompt orchestration, output validation, and AI evaluation capabilities
- Work with AWS services including Bedrock, AgentCore, EKS, EC2, S3, and SQS
- Design CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps practices
- Integrate AI services with enterprise security and observability frameworks
- Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to establish reusable patterns and engineering standards
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance

We are a technology consultancy delivering enterprise-scale Generative and Agentic AI solutions for a major financial services client. This is a permanent AI Tech Lead Developer role in London, with hybrid working and three days per week onsite. The salary is £75,000–£85,000 plus benefits. Youll work alongside experienced architects, platform engineers, and development teams, leading delivery while remaining hands-on. We offer the opportunity to lead enterprise-scale AI development, work with modern Generative and Agentic AI technologies, and collaborate with experienced AI engineers, architects, and platform specialists.
