Application Developer

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of software development experience
• Deep proficiency in Java or another relevant language/stack, with the ability to learn additional technologies
• Experience designing systems, components, services, RESTful web services, and APIs
• Knowledge of data modeling, schema design, query performance, and databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL
• Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka
• Strong testing, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Experience debugging and troubleshooting production systems using logs, metrics, and traces
• Familiarity with CI/CD, version control workflows, containers, Kubernetes, and cloud or infrastructure concepts
• Awareness of security and performance considerations
• Ability to provide substantive code review feedback
• Camunda BPMM experience is a plus
• Ability to work through ambiguous problems independently and break large efforts into deliverable pieces
• Sound judgment in balancing speed, quality, and maintainability
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with developers and stakeholders
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship is unavailable
• Provide month and day of birth and complete a background check as part of onboarding

Responsibilities:

• Follow our software development lifecycle to design, code, configure, test, debug, and document system and application programs
• Help prepare technical design specifications based on functional requirements and analysis documents
• Review functional requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback
• Collaborate with other developers to support quality and consistency
• Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews
• Develop and maintain operational and system-level documentation

We are Brooksource, hiring a Software Developer to work directly with a telecommunications client. This is a hybrid, long-term W2 contract with a 40-hour work week and potential for extension or conversion to a full-time role. The stated pay range is $100,000–$120,000, depending on experience; compensation is not guaranteed and may depend on factors including experience, skills, responsibilities, and internal and market considerations.
