Applications Engineer

Requirements:

• We prefer a bachelors degree in STEM, engineering, or a related discipline.
• We look for at least 4 years of engineering experience with similar products or comparable industry practices.
• We need strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with customers.
• We require experience reviewing technical data packages, such as drawings and bills of materials.
• We value strong problem-solving, statistical, and analytical abilities.
• We prefer experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks.
• We prefer familiarity with industry standards such as IPC, DO-160, and MIL-STD-810.
• We expect excellent computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office applications.
• We need the ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines and stay highly organized.
• We require the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• We anticipate 5-15% travel.

Responsibilities:

• We serve as the technical link between Sales, Pricing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and our customers.
• We provide engineering calculations and recommendations to help meet customer requirements.
• We translate customer needs into products that can be manufactured efficiently.
• We resolve application and customer design issues before purchase order release, when needed.
• We support operational excellence by researching technology, equipment, and software that meet industry needs.
• We participate in technical and engineering forums within our organization.
• We develop preliminary designs to support pricing and early-stage design activities.
• We research and recommend solutions for specialty bill of material items as needed.
• We design and oversee prototype builds for customer applications as needed.
• We carry out additional tasks assigned by our manager.
