Building Engineer, Data Centers - Night Shift

Requirements:

• Able to traverse large, campus-like settings and lift at least 50 pounds.
• Able to climb stairs and access rooftop equipment, use ladders up to 30 feet, and work at heights; able to climb a ladder with a 300-pound weight limit.
• Able to work varying schedules and holidays, and respond to site emergencies.
• At least 2 years of experience working in a data center or critical facility.
• Experience with building systems, including UPS systems, emergency generators, and switchgear.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Google Suite, and CMMS.
• Preferred: Corrigo experience, Universal EPA 608 certification, and NFPA 70E training.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship; this position does not provide sponsorship.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance on building systems to support continuous operation and 100% uptime, including fire and life safety, mechanical, electrical, emergency backup, and hot water systems.
• Monitor, adjust, and maintain refrigeration, chilled water, air conditioning, boilers, ventilation, water heaters, pumps, valves, piping, filters, and other mechanical and electrical equipment; record readings and make adjustments as needed.
• Analyze system operation, identify causes of problems or malfunctions, and take corrective action.
• Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials, and maintain a clean, safe workplace.
• Learn the data center site and manage incidents and events that could put critical systems at risk.
• Manage work orders, including CMMS, vendor management, and customer-facing tickets.
• Understand and follow emergency escalation procedures.
• Perform additional duties as required.

This Building Engineer, Data Centers position is based on-site in Amarillo and Claude, Texas. The schedule is a night shift starting at 6 p.m., three to four days per week. Expected pay is $35–$40 per hour, plus a 12% night shift differential; final compensation depends on factors including qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
