Cloud Backend Engineer

Requirements:

• Formal software engineering training or certification and at least five years of applied experience.
• Hands-on experience designing systems, developing and testing applications, and operating services in AWS.
• Proficiency in Java and Python.
• Expertise in data engineering tools and processes, including Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Cassandra, and ETL.
• Experience with AWS Glue, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, and ECS.
• Experience building services with Spring Boot and gRPC APIs.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, Kubernetes, and containers.
• Advanced knowledge of CI/CD, application resiliency, and security practices.
• Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Demonstrated proficiency with software applications and technical processes in cloud and related domains.
• AWS Solutions Architect certification is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native backend services on AWS using Java and Python.
• Build and optimize data pipelines and integrations using Glue, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, ECS, and Cassandra.
• Implement infrastructure as code with Terraform and maintain operational stability and observability.
• Develop services and APIs with Spring Boot and gRPC using microservices patterns.
• Apply CI/CD, resiliency, and security best practices throughout the software lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions and support technical assessments.
