Requirements:
- Significant experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale cloud platforms across one or more of Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric or Snowflake.
- Advanced Infrastructure as Code capabilities, such as Terraform, Bicep or CloudFormation, including AI-assisted generation and governance.
- Experience designing and implementing CI/CD platforms, including AI-assisted deployment and test automation.
- Experience with AIOps, platform observability and intelligent monitoring, including self-healing or autonomously managed platform capabilities.
- Experience in cloud security, networking, identity and access management, and policy-as-code engineering.
- Proven ability to design AI-ready platform architectures for production GenAI, ML and agentic workloads.
- Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams, setting technical direction and maintaining high delivery standards.
- Familiarity with agentic AI patterns and their implications for platform design, operations and governance.
- Particularly valuable: experience with agentic platform capabilities or AI-driven autonomous operations in production, enterprise-scale FinOps and cost optimisation, commercial propositions or client-facing accelerators, cloud networking or security engineering, and policy-as-code or platform governance.
- Relevant advanced cloud, AI platform, engineering or practitioner certifications are an advantage. Examples include AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect, AWS Machine Learning Specialty, Google Professional ML Engineer, Databricks Generative AI Engineer, and equivalent credentials from leading AI vendors.
- We welcome experienced platform engineering leaders with demonstrable depth across several of these areas and the technical curiosity to develop in others; applicants do not need to meet every criterion.
Responsibilities:
- Lead delivery of enterprise-scale cloud platform programmes and drive the design and implementation of AI-native infrastructure across Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric and Snowflake.
- Architect and oversee AI-ready platform environments, addressing the compute, networking, storage and security needs of GenAI, ML and agentic workloads.
- Drive AIOps adoption by implementing intelligent monitoring, automated incident detection and response, and self-healing infrastructure to reduce manual operational effort.
- Lead the design and delivery of CI/CD platforms with AI-assisted deployment pipelines, automated testing and operational automation, establishing standards across delivery teams.
- Establish and govern Infrastructure as Code practices at scale, using AI-assisted code generation and review where appropriate to accelerate delivery and enforce consistency.
- Lead platform security, networking and compliance engineering, embedding policy-as-code, automated governance controls and AI-assisted security scanning.
- Design for platform resilience, FinOps and performance optimisation, using AI-driven telemetry and observability to anticipate issues, optimise costs and maintain operational excellence.
- Drive adoption of agentic operations patterns, designing platforms for autonomous and human-in-the-loop workflows and guiding teams on how to build and govern them.
- Mentor and develop platform engineering teams in AI-augmented delivery practices, set technical standards and foster continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
- Contribute to proposition development, accelerators and reusable platform assets that strengthen our market offering and reduce delivery time on future engagements.
