Requirements:

  • Masters degree in industrial, manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2–3 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, including at least 2 years supporting Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) or tableting/compression operations.
  • Demonstrated hands-on completion of waste-reduction or automation projects as the primary executor, rather than solely as a coordinator.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, DMAIC, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, OEE improvement, statistical analysis, root cause analysis, and practical process analysis.
  • Ability to identify improvement opportunities, develop business cases, quantify benefits, and create practical workflows, dashboards, or data tools.
  • Strong project ownership and cross-functional execution skills within GMP, data integrity, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Preferred: Lean Six Sigma certification; strong Green Belt candidates with proven hands-on project delivery will also be considered.
  • Preferred: Proficiency with Power BI, Power Automate, advanced Excel, SQL, SAP, MES/EBR, and historian or manufacturing analytics platforms.
  • Preferred: Experience applying modern analytics and AI-enabled tools to operational reliability and performance.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, systems-thinking, communication, documentation, and compliance skills; able to question established practices and carry approved ideas through implementation and sustainment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct process and time studies, waste assessments, and bottleneck analyses to identify improvement and automation opportunities.
  • Prepare evidence-based opportunity assessments covering current-state baselines, anticipated operational and financial benefits, implementation requirements, costs, risks, timelines, and sustainment plans.
  • Present opportunities to the Site Leadership Team for prioritization, approval, and sponsorship; project priorities and resource commitments remain with that team.
  • Lead approved projects from analysis through solution development, automation build, training, implementation, benefit realization, and sustainment, collaborating with Operations, Finance, Quality, Engineering, and IT/OT as needed.
  • Develop and deploy practical digital and analytics solutions, such as Power BI dashboards, Power Automate workflows, and electronic data collection, to reduce non-value-added work.
  • Improve OEE, cleaning and changeover or setup times, labor productivity, throughput, and capacity across manufacturing, laboratory, office, and warehouse operations.
  • Partner with Finance to classify and validate benefits consistently, maintain an agreed view of project value, and avoid duplicate reporting or double counting.
  • Establish process ownership, standard work, training, controls, documentation, and performance tracking before project closure.
  • Ensure improvements meet applicable GMP, data integrity, safety, quality, change-control, and validation requirements in an FDA-regulated environment.
