Data Analyst

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Technology, or a closely related field
• Six months of experience in an IT position on a corporate IT team
• Programming and scripting experience with SQL or Python
• Experience with data warehousing or dimensional data modeling
• Understanding of cloud-based tools, including Power BI, Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, Excel, and database management
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle
• Experience may be gained through work or an educational program

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the accuracy of decision science and reporting by collecting, managing, and transforming raw data into useful business information
• Work with domain experts, Business Analysts, and Financial Analysts to define data requirements for business processes
• Gather data from multiple sources and recommend automated pipeline, ETL, and ELT implementations to Data Engineering team members
• Maintain data accuracy, consistency, and integrity, and identify and resolve data quality issues
• Perform SQL Server database administration, including account administration, system health and performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and real-time problem resolution
• Carry out technical work on automated pipelines, ETLs, and ELTs when a Data Engineer is unavailable
• Develop and support reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI
• Provide second-level employee support for decision science services
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues involving large datasets from multiple sources
• Coordinate with application and technical teams to ensure services meet data architecture requirements
• Collaborate with business users to clarify data definitions and analytics use cases, and help establish data governance and detailed data requirements
• Manage concurrent project activities and apply innovative problem-solving
• Research tools, practices, and industry trends, and recommend improvements
