Data Center Technician

Requirements:

• We have 2–3+ years of experience in data center operations, IT hardware installation, or a closely related technical field.
• We are proficient in server rack installation, cable organization, and transceiver deployment.
• We understand data center infrastructure, including power distribution and cooling systems.
• We have familiarity with networking fundamentals such as Ethernet, fiber optics, and transceiver compatibility.
• We can lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs and are comfortable working in confined spaces.
• We can stand, bend, and reach for extended periods.
• We have strong attention to detail and solid organizational skills.
• We bring strong problem-solving and communication abilities.
• We can work independently and collaborate effectively in a team setting.
• Preferred certifications include CompTIA Server+, Data Center Technician, or an equivalent credential.
• Preferred safety training includes OSHA 10 or similar coursework.
• We are available to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed.

Responsibilities:

• We safely transport, install, and secure server racks in designated data center areas, ensuring proper alignment and stability.
• We organize, route, and label data and power cabling to maintain a clean, efficient, and safe environment in line with industry standards.
• We install, test, and troubleshoot optical transceivers to support dependable network connectivity.
• We help install and configure servers, networking equipment, and related hardware.
• We keep accurate records of installations, cable layouts, labeling, and inventory.
• We follow data center safety procedures, including correct equipment handling and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• We collaborate with data center engineers, facilities teams, and vendors to support operational objectives.
