EO/IR Systems Engineer

Requirements:

• Must currently hold an active Top Secret security clearance.
• Bachelors degree in engineering, physics, or a related scientific field and at least 4 years of relevant experience; or a graduate degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience; or at least 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least 2 years of systems engineering experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with space systems and/or sensor technology design, manufacturing, integration, and testing.
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MATLAB.
• EO/IR or imaging systems design experience is highly desired.
• Familiarity with Linux, ground telemetry and commanding software, and mission scheduling software is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work with cross-functional teams and serve as a customer interface.
• A disciplined approach to documenting processes and results, and the ability to collaborate across leadership levels.

Responsibilities:

• Provide mission operations support for current L3Harris products.
• Help develop and verify mission concepts of operations (CONOPs), and guide existing CONOPs through successful program execution.
• Monitor and analyze system performance, identify anomalies, and respond to unusual conditions.
• Apply advanced engineering principles and methods to solve complex spaceflight hardware problems, working independently and collaborating across engineering disciplines.
• Coordinate with off-site factory support and on-site customers in a fast-paced, multi-company environment.
• Communicate technical issues, risks, opportunities, and status related to L3Harris products, working with teammates and customers to support mission success.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and occasional surge or shift work.

The salary range in Virginias Greater D.C. area is $92,500–$171,500; the final offer may vary based on experience, location, and other factors.
