Firmware QA Engineer

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 8+ years of hands-on firmware or embedded-product validation/QA experience.
• Demonstrated ability to write and execute test plans and cases, identify and close coverage gaps, and manage defects through their full lifecycle.
• Hands-on validation experience in at least one connectivity area, such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE/5G cellular, GNSS, or vehicle networking.
• Strong debugging and log-triage skills, including familiarity with Wireshark, DLT, ADB, or similar tools.
• Experience reproducing and isolating defects reported from production or field environments.
• Python scripting skills for automating routine checks and parsing logs, and comfort working in Linux/Ubuntu.
• Disciplined defect tracking experience with JIRA and Confluence, along with familiarity with agile release cycles.
• Preferred: Experience with in-cabin entertainment or media-casting frameworks; Bluetooth stack validation, including pairing, A2DP, HFP, or AVRCP interoperability; wireless connectivity technologies; or autonomous-vehicle or robotaxi fleet environments.

Responsibilities:

• Perform functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing of audio and streaming features on test benches and in vehicles.
• Create test cases, expand test suites, and maintain documentation as features evolve.
• Find gaps in existing test coverage, add tests to address them, and monitor coverage health across feature tracks.
• Reproduce defects, collect and analyze logs and traces, and investigate root causes before referring issues to firmware owners.
• Lead initial triage of fleet-reported audio and streaming issues by reproducing them in the lab, narrowing their scope, and coordinating resolution with fleet support, diagnostics, and firmware teams.
• Manage defects in JIRA from initial reporting through fix verification and regression follow-up, with clear reproduction steps, supporting logs, and severity rationale.
• Maintain test benches, in-vehicle rigs, and diagnostic setups in release-ready condition.
• Work with firmware leads, product managers, and integration partners to align on feature readiness and defect priorities.
