Health & Safety Manager – Data Center Safety

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent.
• Bachelors degree and 4+ years of experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk prevention, or a related area; alternatively, 8 years of equivalent experience.
• Experience handling confidential information.
• 3+ years of experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to drive improvements.
• Professional safety qualification or similar risk or compliance credentials.
• Experience with generative AI and Excel.

Responsibilities:

• Own the health and safety function for the assigned area, improving data center safety, strengthening safety culture, and protecting employees.
• Implement health and safety standards, policies, and practices, including safety management systems, training, risk assessments, industrial hygiene assessments, and applicable regulations.
• Audit data centers and active construction sites for compliance with health, safety, and life safety requirements.
• Implement global health and safety programs that exceed regulatory requirements.
• Develop plans for on-site emergencies, business continuity, and other unique events.
• Maintain safety records and data integrity, and analyze trends to inform cluster leadership and support business and safety initiatives.
• Consult and partner with the compliance team on interpretations and guidance.
• Identify risks and work with Operations to address them using the hierarchy of controls.
• Provide health and safety guidance through daily interactions with customers.
• Partner with data center engineers, employees, contractors, construction managers, and teams across security, construction, operations, logistics, compliance, legal, and human resources.
• Identify and mitigate risks with construction managers before new data capacity enters live operations, and advocate for safe changes as infrastructure, tools, products, and processes evolve.
