Java Application Developer

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise applications, including backend applications.
• 3+ years of experience building scalable, distributed data systems with Java and cloud technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver solutions, provide implementation support, and engage with customers.
• Strong Java expertise, including Java 8 or later and Java runtime fundamentals.
• Experience developing software for enterprise customers.
• Solid computer science foundation, including algorithms, data structures, software design, and large distributed systems.
• Experience with performance optimization, code profiling, and Java application runtime analysis.
• Ability to provide technical mentorship and leadership to junior team members, while remaining hands-on with code writing and reviews.
• Preferred: Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP services, including managed databases such as DynamoDB, BigQuery, or Cosmos DB, and managed queue services such as SQS, Pub/Sub, or Azure Service Bus.
• Preferred: Experience with cloud security principles, Kubernetes, and big data technologies.
• Preferred: Customer support experience in the SaaS sector.
• Preferred: A masters degree in computer science or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities:

• Work with tech leads, architects, the Kanban master, QA, and project managers to deliver high-quality work.
• Develop complex features for our MDM platform and lead their technical delivery, making day-to-day technical decisions.
• Present solutions to architects and distribute work across one or two engineers as needed.
• Collaborate with QA on testing approaches, provide the information needed for testing, and review test plans.
• Maintain strong unit and integration test coverage.
• Create and maintain internal feature documentation.
• Communicate professionally with representatives across cross-functional teams.
• Provide ongoing support for the areas under your responsibility.
