Requirements:

  • Were seeking a senior software development engineer with 8+ years of experience in systems software engineering, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, or storage platform development.
  • We require strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python, plus deep knowledge of operating system internals, concurrency, memory management, performance optimization, and systems debugging.
  • Candidates should have hands-on experience with software-defined or distributed storage platforms and enterprise infrastructure software.
  • We expect strong experience with KVM/QEMU, libvirt, virtio, and virtualized networking or storage infrastructure.
  • Candidates should have experience developing or troubleshooting storage and networking subsystems, kernel modules, or device drivers.
  • We value knowledge of storage technologies and protocols such as NVMe, iSCSI, NFS, SMB/CIFS, S3, and distributed block, object, or file storage.
  • We expect operational experience with infrastructure on AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI, as well as familiarity with CI/CD, automation, observability, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • We require strong analytical, debugging, performance-tuning, communication, and collaboration skills, including the ability to influence technical discussions and independently resolve most technical blockers while proactively escalating major risks.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with ONTAP or similar enterprise storage operating systems; leading subsystem development or complex cross-functional projects; familiarity with cloud-native virtualization and infrastructure orchestration; experience in scalability, reliability, or operational excellence; and advanced cloud certifications or equivalent industry experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Well have you design, develop, and optimize components across our software-defined storage and virtualization stack, including storage services, virtual networking, Linux system services, and distributed infrastructure.
  • Youll contribute to significant portions of our product across storage, networking, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure projects.
  • Youll develop and maintain Linux user-space and kernel-space software for storage subsystems, networking stacks, virtualization, and infrastructure services.
  • Youll work with virtualization technologies such as KVM/QEMU, libvirt, virtio, virtual networking, and storage virtualization frameworks.
  • Youll investigate and resolve complex system-level issues involving compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and distributed systems.
  • Youll use sound technical judgment to assess architectural tradeoffs, scalability, and operational reliability, while driving solutions and identifying risks, dependencies, and escalation points.
  • Youll collaborate with engineering, product, support, and cloud partner teams, and work with cloud providers to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing infrastructure capabilities.
  • Youll mentor junior engineers, participate in code and design reviews, and support engineering best practices.
  • Youll contribute throughout the product lifecycle, from architecture and implementation through testing, deployment, operational support, and customer issue resolution.
