Requirements:

  • Masters degree in industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 2–3 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, including at least 2 years supporting Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) or tableting/compression operations.
  • Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing, DMAIC, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, OEE improvement, statistical analysis, root cause analysis, and process analysis.
  • Demonstrated completion of waste-reduction or automation projects as the primary executor rather than a coordinator.
  • Ability to identify improvement opportunities, develop business cases, quantify benefits, and create practical workflows, dashboards, or data tools.
  • Strong project ownership and cross-functional execution skills in environments with GMP, data-integrity, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Preferred: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt; Green Belts with proven hands-on delivery will also be considered.
  • Preferred: Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, advanced Excel, SQL, SAP, MES/EBR, historian platforms, or manufacturing analytics tools.
  • Preferred: Experience using modern analytics and AI-enabled tools to improve operational reliability and performance.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, systems-thinking, communication, documentation, and compliance skills; able to challenge established practices and carry approved ideas through implementation and sustainment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct process and time studies, waste assessments, and bottleneck analyses to identify improvement and automation opportunities.
  • Prepare evidence-based opportunity assessments detailing baseline performance, anticipated operational and financial benefits, implementation needs, costs, risks, timelines, and sustainment plans.
  • Present opportunities to the Site Leadership Team for prioritization, approval, and sponsorship.
  • Lead approved projects from analysis through solution development, automation build, training, implementation, benefit realization, and sustainment, collaborating with Operations, Finance, Quality, Engineering, and IT/OT.
  • Develop and deploy practical digital and analytics tools, including dashboards, automated workflows, and electronic data collection, to reduce non-value-added work.
  • Improve OEE, cleaning and changeover/setup times, labor productivity, throughput, and capacity across manufacturing, laboratories, offices, and warehouse operations.
  • Work with Finance to consistently classify and validate benefits, maintain an agreed view of project value, and avoid duplicate reporting or double counting.
  • Establish process ownership, standard work, training, controls, documentation, and performance tracking before project closure.
  • Ensure improvements meet GMP, data-integrity, safety, quality, change-control, and validation requirements in an FDA-regulated environment.
