Network Administrator

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Typically at least 4 years of relevant network engineering, network administration, or network security experience.
• Hands-on experience administering Palo Alto and Cisco firewalls, supporting Cisco switching, and maintaining enterprise production infrastructure.
• Experience in regulated or compliance-focused environments and with operational maintenance, including patching, upgrades, and user administration.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing and switching, VPNs, network security, DNS and related services, high availability, load balancing, cloud networking fundamentals, and monitoring and observability.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, documentation, and organizational skills; ability to work independently with limited supervision, attend closely to detail, collaborate across teams, and uphold operational excellence, security, and compliance.
• Preferred: Experience in federal, healthcare, or other highly regulated environments; familiarity with NIST SP 800-53, DISA STIGs, HIPAA, vulnerability management, and protecting PII and PHI; experience with audits, Azure, AWS, hybrid cloud networking, or automation tools such as PowerShell, Python, or Ansible.
• Preferred certifications: CCNA or CCNP; Security+, Palo Alto PCNSA or PCNSE, or CISSP; Azure AZ-104 or AZ-700, or AWS Certified Advanced Networking; ITIL Foundation.

Responsibilities:

• Administer Palo Alto and Cisco firewall platforms; implement approved firewall rules, VPN configurations, NAT policies, and network segmentation; and contribute to vulnerability remediation, security hardening, incident response, and security baseline implementation.
• Support Cisco routing and switching, troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues, assist with infrastructure upgrades and lifecycle management, participate in change and maintenance processes, and investigate root causes of network incidents.
• Support F5 load-balancing services, maintaining virtual servers, traffic-management policies, SSL configurations, and application delivery; partner with application teams to sustain service availability.
• Apply patches, firmware, hotfixes, and security updates; manage users and access; perform operational maintenance and validation; support disaster recovery and business continuity testing; and maintain runbooks and procedures.
• Help operate infrastructure in regulated environments, prepare for audits, collect evidence, remediate findings, maintain technical controls, protect sensitive PII and PHI, and follow configuration and change-control processes.
• Use monitoring and observability platforms to identify issues; review network health, capacity, availability, and performance; support operational reporting and dashboards; and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Create and maintain network diagrams, technical procedures, standards, operational guides, and audit-ready documentation.
• Collaborate with systems administration, systems and network engineering, cybersecurity, and governance, risk, and compliance teams; participate in incident, change, and problem management.
