Network Engineer II

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in an IT-related field focused on network or hosting engineering; candidates currently studying a similar field may also be considered
• 3–5 years of experience in infrastructure, networking, or telecommunications, or equivalent experience
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure hardware, including networking and hosting
• Experience with networks, telecommunications, servers, and Hyper-V virtualization
• Understanding of Cisco LAN, WLAN, and WAN infrastructure
• Experience implementing or managing network segmentation, including VLANs
• Experience with IT service management and the ITIL methodology; ServiceNow experience is a plus
• Understanding of network security and security policy implementation, including Cisco and Palo Alto technologies
• Ability to create network and hosting diagrams and documentation, including HLDs, LLDs, and technical standards
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of budgeting and project management
• CCNA certification preferred; other networking, server, or firewall certifications are a plus

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the on-site expert and primary contact for connectivity issues at the clients factory
• Help manage IT network, telecommunications, and local on-premises server infrastructure, with work weighted approximately 70% network, 20% server, and 10% other IT infrastructure
• Collaborate on logical network designs and physical network and server infrastructure layouts
• Contribute to security patching schedules and policies for network and hosting equipment
• Proactively monitor network status and capacity
• Participate in infrastructure operations and escalations to support network, telecommunications, and hosting availability and performance
• Work with network, telecommunications, on-premises server infrastructure, and data-cabling providers to address operational issues
• Lead or participate in the coordination and execution of global and local IT infrastructure projects in accordance with local and global guidelines
• Coordinate operations with local IT service vendors and partners
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents through an understanding of network operations; direct device configuration is not part of the role
