PKI Security Engineer

Requirements:

• At least 4 years of information technology experience, including at least 2 years working with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
• Expert-level experience with PKI, certificates, and encryption in large, complex environments.
• Experience with public Certificate Authorities, including DigiCert and Sectigo.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certification required.
• Preferred: knowledge of or hands-on experience with DigiCert CertCentral; understanding of ITIL principles; experience leading technical teams or projects; AWS certification; Python or other scripting experience; 3+ years of PKI experience; enterprise-scale PKI operations and implementation experience; 2+ years of UNIX experience; and a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
• Must be willing and able to work on a W-2 basis and work Eastern Time zone hours. The role may be remote or onsite hybrid at a people center if needed.

Responsibilities:

• Manage public CA certificate issuance and lifecycle processes, as well as domain registration and validation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve PKI and certificate issues, including complex and high-severity incidents; monitor incident queues and address issues across severity levels.
• Create, review, approve, and implement changes to PKI and certificate environments.
• Lead disaster recovery exercises and contribute to projects involving PKI, certificates, and security.
• Analyze, design, and implement PKI, certificate, and security solutions; translate business needs into practical technology solutions.
• Identify technical and operational challenges, analyze trends and root causes, and improve services.
• Plan capacity, monitor performance, and maintain high availability.
• Apply DevOps principles to daily workflows and automation efforts.
• Represent Crypto Services on global incident management calls, engage stakeholders, and communicate technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences.

We are recruiting a Senior PKI Security Engineer to provide operational, engineering, and project support for an enterprise PKI environment. This is a contract role with a one-hour Zoom video interview, offered remotely, with possible onsite hybrid work at a people center if needed. The listed rate is $60–$68 per hour on a W-2 basis.
