Principal UX Engineer

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Human Factors, Industrial Design, UX Design, Engineering, Psychology, Product Development, or a related field
• At least 8 years of relevant industry experience
• 1–3 years of experience supervising and directing people and resources to achieve defined results within limited timeframes
• Automotive or similar transportation industry experience is highly desirable
• Demonstrated experience conducting user-centered research in an educational or professional setting and performing product benchmarking
• GUI prototyping experience is preferred, using tools such as Figma, ProtoPie, Axure, or Kanzi
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to create presentation materials

Responsibilities:

• Research and report on the user experience of current and future automotive and consumer electronics products
• Analyze user research to understand customer needs and preferences for infotainment systems, including displays, interfaces, entertainment, features, and controls
• Recommend changes or new infotainment solutions within the assigned area
• Develop feature and user interface specifications
• Verify that specifications are implemented correctly on test setups and vehicles
• Manage and report on team performance, set objectives, conduct performance reviews, and take corrective action as needed
• Serve as a departmental subject matter expert and maintain knowledge of emerging technologies, regulations, and industry practices through continuing development
• Prepare and submit documentation such as specifications, test reports, evaluations, and drawings; review team members documents for completeness and quality, and provide guidance
• Write reports, presentations, and technical documents that record development activities and communicate with technical experts
