QA Analyst

Requirements:

• Ability to recognize when problems exist or may arise
• Ability to apply general rules to specific problems and draw conclusions from multiple pieces of information
• Strong written and verbal comprehension and communication skills
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
• Experience in a technology-based environment
• Working knowledge of testing methodologies and tools
• Continuous improvement mindset, demonstrated through projects or similar work
• Experience with XML and JSON files and editors such as Altova, Sublime, or Visual Studio Code
• Experience with loyalty, mobile, and card-based payment systems
• Gas station or convenience store experience is beneficial

Responsibilities:

• Create test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures
• Record software defects in Jira, report them to developers, and monitor resolution efforts
• Identify, analyze, and document issues with program functionality, output, screens, or content
• Develop or improve test plans covering database impacts, software scenarios, regression and negative testing, bug retests, and usability
• Document test procedures to support repeatability and compliance with standards
• Plan testing schedules and strategies based on project scope and delivery dates
• Test software compatibility across programs, hardware, operating systems, and network environments
• Test system changes before implementation
• Review software documentation for technical accuracy, compliance, completeness, and risk mitigation
• Provide feedback and recommendations on software usability and functionality
• Monitor program performance for efficient, reliable operation
• Investigate customer issues referred by technical support
• Analyze historical test results
• Perform initial debugging by reviewing configuration files, logs, or code to identify the source of failures
• Work with field staff or customers to assess and diagnose problems
