Requirements:
- We seek expert Rust programming skills, including ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, traits, generics, async programming, unsafe Rust review and containment, Rust/C/C++ FFI, no_std development, embedded Rust, and Cargo workspace management.
- We require embedded-systems experience with bare-metal development, MCU and MPU architectures, ARM Cortex-M/R/A, memory-mapped peripherals, DMA, interrupts, watchdogs, board support packages, and device drivers.
- We require experience with real-time operating systems and platforms such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, SafeRTOS, AUTOSAR OS, QNX, and RT Linux.
- We seek knowledge of communication protocols including SPI, I2C, UART, CAN/CAN-FD, Ethernet, SOME/IP, DDS, BLE, UWB, and TCP/IP.
- We require familiarity with functional safety and quality practices, including ISO 26262 and ASIL-B/C/D, MISRA, ASPICE, static analysis, formal verification concepts, and safety case development.
- We seek experience with development tools such as Git/Gerrit, Jenkins or GitHub Actions, CMake or Bazel, QEMU, Lauterbach, Vector CANoe, and SonarQube.
- Preferred automotive experience includes AUTOSAR Classic, secure ECU communication, vehicle networking, software-defined vehicle architectures, and HSM integration.
- Preferred advanced expertise includes hypervisors, mixed-criticality systems, multi-core safety architectures, trusted execution environments, cryptography, formal methods, and Rust safety-qualified toolchains.
- We require a bachelors or masters degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or a related listed field.
- For the Technical Lead role, we seek at least 8 years of embedded software development experience, at least 3 years leading architecture teams, and experience with safety-certified products.
- Our ideal candidate has a strong C/C++ background and is transitioning to Rust; experience delivering ASIL-B to ASIL-D systems; a deep understanding of real-time constraints; and confidence reviewing and justifying unsafe Rust usage.
- We value excellent debugging and system-level problem-solving skills, plus experience developing software for vehicle ECUs, controllers, gateways, cockpit platforms, or safety domains.
Responsibilities:
- We need you to design and develop safety-critical embedded software in Rust, including low-level platform software, middleware, drivers, system services, and applications.
- We need you to build high-performance real-time applications with deterministic behavior, define software architectures and interface specifications, and optimize memory footprint, startup time, and CPU utilization.
- We need you to conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
- We need you to contribute to safety concept implementation and software safety requirements, develop software compliant with ISO 26262, and support FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, and DFA activities.
- We need you to design solutions for hard real-time, interrupt-driven, multithreaded, and time-sensitive networking systems; analyze worst-case execution time; develop interrupt-safe and lock-free components; and ensure deterministic behavior.
- We need you to implement secure boot and trusted execution concepts, apply secure coding practices, design memory-safe architectures, and analyze and mitigate cybersecurity risks.
- We need you to integrate Rust components with C/C++, AUTOSAR, Linux, QNX, and RTOS platforms.
- We need you to develop unit, integration, and system tests and support CI/CD and automated quality gates.
