Senior AI Developer

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in computer engineering, computer science, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 6 years of significant software development experience.
• Strong Python skills; experience with Angular or React is an asset.
• Proficiency with cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS, containers, infrastructure as code (Terraform), CI/CD, and observability.
• Experience with automated backend and UI testing, and familiarity with observability tools and practices.
• Understanding of generative AI concepts and tools, including prompting, agent frameworks, evaluations, guardrails, RAG, embeddings and vector databases, model fine-tuning, graph databases with LLMs, MCP, and reasoning models.
• Strong data engineering skills; experience with Databricks technologies such as Unity Catalog and Delta Lake is an asset.
• Proficiency in AI-assisted coding and a good understanding of MLOps best practices.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate business problems into technical solutions; a proactive, collaborative approach and willingness to drive change.
• Candidates located in Quebec must be bilingual in French and English because of frequent collaboration with English-speaking colleagues across Canada.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date and throughout employment. Canadian work experience is not required; we do not provide immigration sponsorship or related support.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and improve our MLOps platform to strengthen operational processes, robustness, performance, scalability, reliability, and observability.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of software products, including workflow orchestration, APIs and services, and front-end interfaces.
• Partner with data scientists and analysts to ensure AI solutions meet business needs, use high-quality data, and support strategic goals.
• Coordinate with IT and operations teams to integrate AI solutions with existing insurance systems and align on technical requirements and deployment plans.
• Keep current with AI and machine learning developments, apply relevant techniques to improve deployed solutions, and share knowledge with the team.
• Use CI/CD tools and agile practices to deliver features and updates quickly and reliably.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to squad members and influence the technical roadmap.
