Senior Application Developer

Requirements:

• 10+ years of hands-on full-stack application development experience with the .NET technology stack.
• Extensive experience with C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, .NET 9, MVC, and Entity Framework.
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server experience, including database design, query development, and performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience developing or supporting applications hosted on Microsoft Azure.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and frontend frameworks or libraries such as React or Angular.
• Experience designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Experience working with geospatial data using SQL Server, Oracle/Oracle Spatial, and PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
• Experience integrating GIS technologies with web applications for mapping and geospatial visualization.
• Knowledge of enterprise application design, architecture principles, and software development best practices.
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and software release management.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, GIS, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
• Availability for an in-person interview in New York, NY and onsite work five days per week during the first three months.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, .NET 9, MVC, and Entity Framework.
• Build and maintain SQL Server databases, develop efficient queries, and optimize database performance.
• Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs for application functionality and integrations.
• Develop, deploy, and support Azure-hosted applications, ensuring reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Integrate geospatial data and implement web-based mapping, GIS, and visualization capabilities.
• Build and maintain user-facing application components using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks or libraries such as React or Angular.
• Contribute to technical design decisions, application architecture, and development best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain application quality and performance.
• Work with Git/GitHub, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and release management processes.
• Prepare technical documentation, support knowledge transfer, and collaborate with developers, agency stakeholders, and project leadership.

We are hiring on behalf of our client for a Senior Application Developer – .NET / GIS to support a building maintenance system modernization project. The initiative focuses on modernizing enterprise applications, integrating geospatial capabilities, and delivering reliable, scalable technology for agency operations. This role brings together full-stack .NET engineering, cloud development, database optimization, and GIS within an enterprise project environment, working with experienced development teams and agency stakeholders. The position is based in New York, NY, with an onsite schedule Monday through Friday for the first three months before transitioning to hybrid work. Hours are weekdays, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, up to 35 hours per week; the contract may last up to 18 months. Interviews are in person.
