Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

Requirements:

• We seek 8-12+ years of overall technology, software engineering, infrastructure, or related experience.
• We seek 2-5+ years of cybersecurity-focused experience.
• We need strong hands-on experience identifying and remediating security vulnerabilities.
• We value experience supporting regulated or compliance-driven environments.
• We require knowledge of STIGs, security controls, vulnerability management, and cybersecurity best practices.
• We prefer familiarity with federal security frameworks such as NIST, RMF, FedRAMP, FISMA, or similar standards.
• We need the ability to work effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• We look for strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• We value a proven ability to take initiative and drive issues through resolution.
• Preferred: experience supporting Department of Defense or federal government programs.
• Preferred: familiarity with Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and compliance initiatives.
• Preferred: experience with cloud environments, including AWS or AWS GovCloud.
• Preferred: understanding of secure software development practices.
• Preferred: prior software development experience, especially within modern application environments.
• Preferred: experience reviewing source code and partnering with development teams on remediation efforts.
• Preferred: background supporting healthcare technology, enterprise software, or other highly regulated industries.

Responsibilities:

• We lead cybersecurity initiatives across cloud and on-premises environments.
• We identify, assess, and remediate application and infrastructure vulnerabilities.
• We partner with software engineers to build security into the development lifecycle.
• We support compliance efforts tied to federal security standards and regulatory obligations.
• We participate in security assessments, audits, and risk management work.
• We help improve security processes, release management controls, and operational procedures.
• We conduct root-cause analysis and recommend preventative actions.
• We serve as a technical resource in customer conversations and security reviews.
• We contribute to incident response, vulnerability management, and security monitoring activities.
• We collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and leadership teams.
