Senior Java Engineer, AVOD & Agentic Development

Requirements:

• Senior-level software engineering experience with strong production-level Java skills.
• Experience developing new services and enhancing applications within mature codebases.
• Hands-on experience using AI agents to produce and iteratively improve code.
• Ability to describe a repeatable agentic workflow, from defining tasks through code generation, review, testing, and integration.
• Enthusiasm for AI-enabled engineering and willingness to work within an agentic development model.
• Preferred: AVOD platforms or workflows, advertising-supported streaming or video platforms, personalization or recommendation systems, modernization of mature Java systems, and development of reusable services or platform components.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and support Java-based AVOD systems within a mature platform and established codebase.
• Build services and enhance existing ones, emphasizing reuse and modernization.
• Balance ongoing platform support with development of future capabilities.
• Contribute to personalization projects as appropriate.
• Use agentic development workflows to generate, review, test, and refine code.
• Collaborate with a small, senior engineering team.

We are seeking a Senior Java Engineer for our clients AVOD team, which is supporting a high-priority platform initiative. The role focuses on understanding and extending mature Java systems while developing services and features with future reuse in mind. This is a fully remote, six-month contract with strong extension potential; Pacific Time overlap is preferred. The posted W2 rate is $75–$85 per hour, and W2 and corp-to-corp arrangements are available.
