Senior Java Full Stack Developer

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in business, IT, or a related field
• At least 8 years of relevant experience supporting complex projects
• U.S. citizenship, required for the DHS Public Trust requirements
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust position and favorable suitability determination through a component background investigation
• Strong knowledge of Java/JEE and object-oriented design
• Experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot, including Spring REST, Spring Data, and Spring Security
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and design patterns
• Experience designing, developing, and consuming RESTful/JSON APIs
• Knowledge of SQL and ORM frameworks such as JPA/Hibernate
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications in AWS
• Experience with CI/CD and at least one DevSecOps tool, such as Jenkins or Harness
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React or Angular
• Familiarity with automated testing tools and practices, including Selenium, Artillery, Insomnia, TDD, and BDD
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools
• Strong communication skills, a self-starter mindset, and the ability to understand business requirements
• Preferred: Existing DHS Public Trust, active CBP BI, or DoD Secret/Top Secret clearance
• Preferred: Familiarity with message queues, event-driven architecture, PostgreSQL, Git/GitHub, large-scale distributed systems, Splunk, Jasper Reports, Amazon Aurora, Redshift, S3, ECS, Apache Tomcat, Rancher, or SAFe

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain enterprise Java/JEE backend services using Spring and Spring Boot
• Develop high-performance RESTful APIs and microservices, including integrations across distributed systems and event-driven architectures
• Develop and maintain JavaScript/TypeScript front-end applications with React or Angular that consume JSON-based APIs
• Containerize and deploy services using Docker, and manage orchestration with Kubernetes and Helm
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Harness or Jenkins to automate testing, security scanning, and deployment
• Design and support applications in enterprise-scale AWS environments
• Write and run automated unit, integration, Selenium, and Artillery tests, and apply Insomnia, TDD, and BDD practices
• Document and test APIs
• Partner with cross-functional teams to turn requirements into secure, high-quality solutions
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, clearly communicating progress and blockers
• Debug and resolve issues in existing code to keep applications running smoothly and securely
• Conduct code reviews to maintain quality, coverage, and coding standards
• Work with QA to identify, track in Jira, and resolve defects
• Monitor production application performance and implement improvements
