- We require U.S. citizenship because of the sensitivity of the customer environment.
- We require an active Secret security clearance.
- We require a bachelors degree in a related discipline and 12 years of experience in the relevant technical or professional field, including at least 5 years supporting DoD work.
- Alternatively, we accept 15 years of directly related experience, including at least 8 years in the DoD.
- We strongly prefer a masters degree in a professional engineering field from an ABET-accredited program, along with at least 10 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in the DoD.
- We prefer experience in requirements development, production and fielding, operations and sustainment, architecture development and implementation, modeling and simulation, and model-based systems engineering.
- We prefer background in verification and validation, technical data package creation and sustainment, and configuration management practices.
- We prefer experience with network architectures, embedded systems, application deployment, cloud environments, and virtualization.
- We prefer familiarity with DoD acquisition processes, including technology maturation, risk reduction, engineering and manufacturing development, and production and deployment.
- We prefer exposure to electronic warfare and/or air combat operations, including live aircrew training, tactics, techniques, and procedures development, and range infrastructure systems.
- We prefer knowledge of Level D certification requirements for full flight simulators, including high-fidelity visual, motion, and cockpit realism standards.
Responsibilities:
- We review program portfolios to assess options, refine systems engineering processes, maintain technical baselines, and support system-level testing.
- We evaluate plans, designs, systems engineering efforts, and test outcomes to confirm compliance with established specifications.
- We prepare technical papers, management summaries, and presentations that define system and subsystem characteristics and support planning and corrective action decisions.
- We develop validation criteria and procedures, then analyze and interpret major engineering results.
- We provide engineering support, technical guidance, and training across acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, deployment, fielding, installation, and operations oversight.
- We support risk management activities in line with Air Force Systems Engineering Assessment Model practices.
- We conduct trade studies that balance performance, effectiveness, cost, lifecycle value, reliability, maintainability, risk, and schedule.
- We deliver technical recommendations through reviews, studies, audits, analyses, procedural guidance, and written documentation in support of engineering integrated product teams.
- We analyze proposals to determine technical feasibility, compatibility, and cost effectiveness of systems and components.
- We review key acquisition and requirements documents, including ICDs, CDDs, CPDs, and AoAs.
- We assess military utility, operational concepts, technology development approaches, configuration audits, and technology standards profiles.
- We analyze system concepts and user needs as they are translated into functional, allocated, and product baselines.
- We support material solution analysis, technology development, engineering, manufacturing, production, deployment, and operations activities.
- We assist with technical processes such as configuration control, requirements analysis, architecture design, implementation, integration, verification, validation, and decision analysis.
- We manage risk, configuration, technical data, interface coordination, technical planning, and related assessments.
- We support technical reviews such as System Requirements Reviews and Technology Readiness Assessments.
- We develop associated systems engineering documentation, including systems engineering plans and risk management plans.
- We ensure systems-of-systems interactions, configuration management, technical data packages, and acquisition/sustainment engineering processes are clearly captured and maintained.
