ServiceNow Developer

Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience in enterprise or large-scale environments
• 3+ years building and supporting custom applications with App Engine Studio
• 3+ years working in Agile or sprint-based delivery models
• A bachelors degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred
• Preferred certifications: ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA), ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD), and ITIL 4 Foundation or equivalent ITSM experience
• Strong server-side scripting skills, including Script Includes, Business Rules, and Scripted REST APIs
• Advanced proficiency with GlideRecord, query optimization, and transactional logic
• Experience with Flow Designer, including reusable actions, subflows, and orchestration patterns
• Understanding of ACL design, role hierarchy, and access evaluation order
• Experience designing and supporting Configurable Workspace and UI Builder experiences
• Familiarity with Platform Analytics, including indicators, breakdowns, and dashboards
• Experience with REST integrations and JSON-based data exchange
• Strong technical documentation skills, including design notes and implementation guidance
• Ability to build upgrade-safe, maintainable applications using App Engine Studio, scoped applications, and platform APIs
• Experience developing role-aware user experiences with Configurable Workspace, UI Policies, Client Scripts, and UI Builder
• Experience implementing and supporting inbound and outbound integrations using Scripted REST APIs and, where applicable, IntegrationHub patterns
• Ability to apply platform guardrails, naming conventions, access controls, and architectural best practices
• Ability to collaborate across teams and participate in Agile delivery processes
• Ability to mentor developers, review code, and promote consistent development standards

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and support enterprise ServiceNow applications and platform capabilities
• Partner with product owners, service managers, and technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions aligned with institutional priorities
• Apply sound architectural judgment and uphold platform standards, governance, and best practices
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and change reviews
• Guide mid-level and delegated developers, review their code, and reinforce consistent development practices
