Requirements:

  • Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • At least 7 years of experience developing production software and platforms, particularly involving automation, integrations, and product reliability.
  • Experience owning products end to end, from technical design and prototyping through implementation, testing, rollout, and maintenance.
  • Strong system design skills, including designing scalable, resilient, observable services and understanding design patterns and trade-offs.
  • Expertise in at least one backend language: Java, Python, Go, or Node.js/TypeScript, and relevant frameworks such as Spring Boot/MVC, Express.js, or NestJS.
  • Frontend experience building single-page applications, preferably with Angular; React or Next.js experience is also suitable. Familiarity with component architecture, state management, and secure user experience patterns is expected.
  • Skills in clean coding, automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, code reviews, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience developing secure REST or GraphQL APIs and integrations, including authorization, input validation, and error handling.
  • Familiarity with data modeling and SQL or NoSQL persistence, performance tuning, and migration strategies.
  • Knowledge of logging, metrics, tracing, health checks, performance profiling, and service-level objectives (SLOs).
  • Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for application delivery, including security steps and quality gates.
  • Ability to break down complex problems, set clear acceptance criteria, and deliver iteratively with measurable outcomes.
  • Ability to guide colleagues, lead design reviews, and influence architecture.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native application design on AWS, Azure, or GCP; Docker; and basic Kubernetes orchestration concepts, including security considerations.
  • Exposure to AI/LLM product development, prompt engineering, model integration, evaluation and validation, and data privacy considerations.
  • Working knowledge of application security fundamentals and standards, such as the OWASP Top 10, secure coding practices, and supply chain security.
  • Experience integrating or operating SAST/DAST, dependency, and cloud security tools, including incorporating vendor products into developer workflows.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain security and engineering concepts to varied audiences.
  • ServiceNow AVR exposure is an asset. Certifications such as CISSP or CEH are optional.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada; Canadian work experience is not required.
  • Candidates located in Quebec must be bilingual, as the role involves regular interaction with English-speaking colleagues across Canada.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and develop reusable services, APIs, and libraries that apply application security best practices at scale.
  • Build and enhance backend and/or frontend features, writing clean, maintainable code.
  • Create automation to coordinate compliance assessments.
  • Develop self-service security products that improve the secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) and speed up secure delivery.
  • Implement AI-assisted capabilities for contextual vulnerability triage and proactive security guardrails.
  • Automate security posture analytics and create executive-ready dashboards using tools such as Grafana and Power BI to highlight trends, coverage, and risk signals.
  • Collaborate with product, architecture, and design colleagues to ensure solutions meet user needs.
  • Encourage adoption through demonstrations, guidance, and workshops.
