Software Engineer - Remote

Requirements:

• 2–7+ years of software engineering or development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Experience with OpenShift and Apache Kafka
• Experience developing and consuming APIs, preferably RESTful services
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a remote engineering team
• AWS or cloud modernization experience is preferred
• Experience migrating from WebSphere to OpenShift, modernizing SOAP services to REST, or working with document management and workflow applications is preferred
• Exposure to AI/GenAI, document classification, or agentic AI solutions is preferred
• Previous successful experience with the organization or team is a plus
• Candidates must be available to work directly as Genesis10 employees

Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance applications using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and OpenShift
• Contribute as a member of an Agile/Scrum team working in two-week sprints
• Support applications for storing, classifying, searching, retrieving, and distributing documents
• Develop and maintain APIs that provide document access for internal and customer-facing applications
• Modernize legacy integrations, including transitioning SOAP services to REST APIs
• Help move applications from WebSphere to OpenShift
• Contribute to AWS and broader cloud modernization initiatives
• Explore and implement AI use cases, including automated document classification
• Support future agentic AI workflows that automate and streamline business processes
• Collaborate with lead engineers and other Scrum team members
