Software Engineering Consultant, Power BI Architecture

Requirements:

• Experience in software engineering, data engineering, or business intelligence development.
• Hands-on experience developing and enhancing Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Familiarity with integrating and ingesting data from multiple sources, including SharePoint and Smartsheet.
• Experience with data modeling, semantic modeling, and analytical calculations.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining ETL processes and data pipelines.
• Proficiency in data analysis and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience developing automation solutions, including scripting and API integrations.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Ability to create clear technical documentation and maintain maintainable data solutions.
• A degree or equivalent experience.
• Pharma or life sciences experience and professional consulting experience are preferred.
• Must be willing and able to work on a W-2 basis.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define scope, and translate business processes into technical specifications, data models, reporting needs, and user-facing solutions.
• Design, develop, and enhance Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions, including data flows, orchestration, semantic models, and reporting architecture.
• Build and maintain ETL pipelines for reliable, efficient reporting and analytics.
• Develop purpose-built data models and analytical calculations for querying, reporting, and analysis.
• Improve dashboards and analytics that support demand and capacity planning, resource allocation, and portfolio management.
• Automate data ingestion and business processes using scripting, API integrations, and connections to sources such as SharePoint and Smartsheet.
• Analyze data to address business needs, identify insights, and support decision-making.
• Create and maintain documentation for data architecture, ETL processes, pipelines, automation solutions, and related workflows.

We are seeking a consultant for Development Sciences to deliver data solutions that support planning, resource allocation, and strategic portfolio management. This remote, part-time engagement is scheduled for 20 hours per week, begins immediately, and has an initial four-month term with an expected extension. The W-2 hourly rate is $70–$80; the stated rate may vary based on skills, experience, and other compensable factors.
