Sr. Hardware Engineer, PSO, Amazon Prime Air

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• At least 7 years of engineering experience
• Experience designing complex mechanical products and equipment for production at volume
• A deemed export control authorization may be required; placement depends on our ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on the candidates behalf
• Preferred: Masters degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Preferred: Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic organization
• Preferred: Ability to explain technical concepts and processes clearly using simple language and visuals
• Preferred: Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams and with people at all organizational levels
• Preferred: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication
• Preferred: Hands-on experience developing proof-of-concept models and prototypes

• Preferred: CATIA or similar CAD experience, including part-design best practices, advanced assemblies, and complex configuration management

Responsibilities:

• Investigate drone system performance anomalies and provide solutions in response to escalations from operations and maintenance teams
• Lead investigations with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to improve system performance metrics
• Develop hardware designs for emerging drone systems and improve existing hardware to enhance performance and customer experience
• Use data-driven insights to lead continuous improvement, establish benchmark standards, and reduce operational burdens
• Coordinate with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams, as well as vendors, to support product launches and ongoing product operations
• Develop and maintain technical procedure documentation
• Communicate strategies and results to senior leaders and operational partners across the organization
