Sr. Reports Developer/Telerik Administrator

Requirements:

• Bachelors or masters degree in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline.
• At least five years of experience in reporting, database, or systems administration, including senior-level responsibilities.
• Five or more years of dedicated experience with Telerik Reporting and Telerik Report Server administration.
• Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL, including complex queries, stored procedures, views, and data models.
• Hands-on Windows Server administration experience, particularly configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting IIS, application pools, bindings, SSL, and site recycling.
• Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for Windows Server and IIS automation, patch management, and administrative tasks.
• Working knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, EBS, VPC, ELB, Auto Scaling Groups, and AWS Backup for Windows-hosted application servers.
• Fundamental understanding of TCP/IP networking, including subnets, DNS, routing, and firewall rules as they relate to report server connectivity.
• Experience with AWS CLI or comparable tools for cloud administration and automation.
• Hands-on use of Anthropic Claude or similar LLM tools for SQL generation, code debugging, and administrative script creation.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, time management, and project management abilities; able to collaborate with product managers, developers, and executive stakeholders, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively as part of a team.
• Awareness of current trends in reporting platforms, Windows Server administration, and AWS best practices.
• AWS certification, such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, preferred.
• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator or a comparable Windows Server certification preferred.
• PowerShell scripting and IIS administration training is an asset.
• Preferred strengths include leadership, strategic thinking, results orientation, technical expertise, ongoing professional development, and clear, audience-aware communication.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy complex, interactive, user-friendly enterprise reports with Telerik Report Designer.
• Write, optimize, and maintain SQL Server queries, stored procedures, views, and data models for reporting.
• Integrate reports with existing application frameworks, including .NET web applications, APIs, and scheduled distribution pipelines.
• Turn business needs into data visualizations, dashboards, and automated report schedules.
• Administer Mi-Cases Telerik Report Servers, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and version migrations.
• Maintain and secure report server environments through software updates, patching, access controls, role permissions, scheduled tasks, data connections, and distribution lists.
• Monitor server performance, diagnose rendering problems, and improve report execution times.
• Administer the Windows Server environments hosting Telerik Report Server, including OS patching, service management, and performance tuning.
• Configure and troubleshoot IIS components, including application pools, site bindings, SSL certificates, and site recycling; review Windows Event Logs and Performance Monitor to address issues proactively.
• Create and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate server and IIS administration, patch management, and routine maintenance.
• Provision and maintain Telerik Report Server instances in AWS, working with services and components including EC2, EBS, RDS, VPC security groups, ELB, CloudWatch, IAM, and S3.
• Implement backups, disaster recovery, and failover strategies for Telerik databases and application servers, including AWS Backup and EBS snapshots.
• Establish monitoring, alerts, and log management to support high availability and fast issue resolution.
• Coordinate with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to align report server environments with corporate security and networking standards.
• Use Anthropic Claude or similar LLM tools to accelerate code generation, query optimization, documentation, and report template development.
