Student Analyst / Assistant - R&D Software Engineer

Requirements:

• We require candidates to be pursuing a bachelors degree in computer science, software development, software engineering, computational engineering, or a related field.
• Applicants must be sophomores, juniors, or seniors.
• Candidates should have skills in C++ and Java and be able to work with advanced data structures, data analytics, and machine learning applications.
• Familiarity with software development on Windows and Linux is expected.
• Applicants should have exposure to, or an interest in, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, signal processing, or related concepts and tools through coursework, projects, research, or prior experience.
• Were looking for proactive communicators who learn quickly and bring strong problem-solving and quantitative data-analysis skills.
• Candidates must be able to work independently and collaboratively, with effective communication skills.
• A valid, clear drivers license is required.
• Applicants must be U.S. citizens and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information, including passing a government security investigation.

Responsibilities:

• Develop software in one or more languages, including C++ and/or Java, for proofs of concept, prototypes, and production-grade applications.
• Collaborate with experienced computer scientists and engineers to create advanced software solutions and translate functional requirements into conceptual and detailed designs.
• Contribute to projects involving data analytics, machine learning, signal processing, visualization, web applications, graphical user interfaces, databases, and related areas, depending on the assignment.
• Create unit and integration tests and assist with software testing, installation, and documentation.
• Communicate proactively with project mentors and team members, provide status updates, think critically through challenges, and contribute effectively both independently and as part of a team.
