Swiss Lathe Programmer/Setup Technician

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and job orders
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Strong grasp of CNC programming and machining principles
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Ability to work independently in a small-shop environment
• CAM programming familiarity is a plus
• Experience with Fanuc controls is preferred
• Experience with AS9100D quality systems and ITAR regulations is preferred
• Ability to operate a forklift for material handling

Responsibilities:

• Program, set up, and operate Swiss CNC lathes to produce precision parts to specification
• Choose and install suitable tooling for each job
• Monitor machine performance to maintain quality and efficiency, adjusting settings as needed
• Carry out routine machine maintenance
• Inspect completed parts using precision measuring instruments
• Keep the work area clean and organized
