Tableau Developer

Requirements:

• 5+ years of enterprise BI development experience; consulting experience and a background designing and implementing enterprise-scale solutions are preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Tableau Prep, with thorough knowledge of Tableau administration and architecture.
• Experience developing applications with relational database management systems.
• Strong experience designing data marts and data warehouses.
• Experience with time-series or NoSQL databases is highly preferred.
• Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, and MongoDB.
• Experience managing unstructured data.
• Experience writing complex SQL and stored procedures, tuning queries, and managing query plans.
• Bachelors degree, university degree, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and manage advanced reporting, analytics dashboards, and other BI solutions.
• Design Tableau dashboard solutions using Sybase and Big Data backend technologies.
• Integrate data from multiple sources, cleansing, blending, and aggregating datasets for visualization.
• Monitor and improve Tableau dashboard and data-source performance to support fast load times and intuitive user experiences.
• Optimize extracts and data retrieval, and maintain, test, and schedule extract refreshes.
• Create trigger-based automation and scripts to refresh Tableau extracts for large data volumes.
• Help prioritize bugs, feature work, and architectural improvements.
• Design Tableau APIs as needed and provide technical expertise in architecture, design, and implementation.
• Troubleshoot data integrity, visualization accuracy, and dashboard performance issues.
• Tune SQL queries for efficiency and performance.
• Conduct unit tests and develop database queries to analyze defects and troubleshoot issues.
• Administer Tableau Server on Linux, including upgrades and installations, and manage end-to-end content deployments using automated solutions.
• Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve business workflows.

We are hiring a senior Tableau/BI Developer for a six-month contract-to-hire role. The position is open in Tampa, Florida; Irving, Texas; or Rutherford, New Jersey, with three days per week onsite. The pay range is $60–$70 per hour on W-2. The role focuses on developing and optimizing Tableau dashboards, working with large datasets and databases, and supporting Tableau Server administration on Linux.
