Technical Support Chemist

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree or higher in Chemistry or a closely related field
• Ideally, experience in a water or wastewater laboratory
• Strong analytical chemistry laboratory skills
• Ideally, familiarity with techniques such as BOD, COD, metals, and colorimetric inorganic nutrient analysis
• Ideally, experience with discrete or flow analyzers (FIA, SFA) and/or BOD robotics
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment to achieve shared goals
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight weekday trips of up to 3–4 nights per week; most travel is within the US

Responsibilities:

• Install instruments onsite and virtually, and train laboratory staff at locations around the US
• Troubleshoot customer issues by phone and email
• Help develop analytical methods
• Test instruments and software
• Create procedures to help customers use instrumentation effectively and efficiently
• Complete special projects related to customer needs
• Advise customers on instrumentation and methods
• Diagnose and maintain in-house instruments
• Support technical sales with instrument and software demonstrations
• Assist with sales and marketing strategies
• Attend conferences, exhibitions, and demonstrations as required
