Test Engineer I

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Electronics or Electrical Engineering preferred, or related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret business and technical publications, procedures, and regulations; write reports, correspondence, and manuals; and present information effectively.
• Ability to apply probability, statistics, geometry, trigonometry, and practical arithmetic concepts.
• Ability to define problems, gather information, draw conclusions, and interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
• Able to frequently walk and lift or carry PCs and test equipment weighing up to 50 pounds; requires close vision and frequent use of computer monitors.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship by Jabil; this position is not eligible for immigration or visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain test procedures, tester hardware, and software for electronic circuit board production.
• Review circuit board designs for testability and recommend testing approaches and procedures spanning product design through initial production.
• Support manufacturing through failure analysis, tester debugging, and efforts to reduce intermittent failures and test equipment downtime.
• Generate and analyze test data, prepare technical reports and documentation, and make recommendations.
• Regularly review test equipment designs, data, and return-material authorization issues with customers.
• Design and oversee fabrication of testing and test-control equipment and apparatus.
• Coordinate engineering activities for developing, procuring, installing, and calibrating instruments and equipment used to conduct and record tests.
• Set test conditions and sequences, oversee test operations, and perform engineering tests on standard and custom devices.
• Develop or use computer hardware and software to test machinery and equipment, and maintain testing techniques in line with established Jabil, ISO, and QS standards.
• Provide training to production testing staff on new procedures as needed.
• Follow applicable safety, health, and company security procedures.
